Theory Books
Guide to Music Theory Books. The theory books are compatible with NFMC Festival Theory program. The NFMC program is based on the theory books below. Each level includes information material on the previous level and definitions. In addition, puzzles, math equations, quizzes and a theory review test are included, giving a unique approach to independent learning. Grouping of notes and rests is included in level 4 and continues through the course.

Chording Books
Traditional music is presented to the students featuring a lead line (single line of music).
With the use of basic chords, lower neighbors, passing tones, harmony, and various left hand accompaniment patterns are introduced. Book 1 features the keys of C, G, and F.

Exercise Books
Don’t Just Sit There, Let’s Exercise features short 4 measure passages that enable the student to easily transpose to all major and minor keys. Book 1 begins with single note exercises and progresses to five fingers. Book 2 includes left and right hand in five finger positions (pentachords) playing chords and cross hand arpeggios. Book 3 continues the 4 measure passages with full octave movement.

First Year Primer Books
Traditional Christmas Carols and Folk Tunes are presented in five finger, Middle C position. The pieces are presented in a manner in which a first year student can play familiar pieces with little help. All pieces are single note melodies. Notes above or below
Middle C are played as a cross-over note with the opposite hand.
